Revenge of Mother Earth

A flash flood raging down the community.

When I was a kid, I used to swim in the river near our school in the province but last summer i visited the river, there was no river. All I saw was some dried rocky cave in land. The river was gone. Many water formations like river already dried up because of global warming. I'm lucky I got to experienced such natural beauty but kind of sad for the next generation.

Later on my stay, it rains non-stop. The river got back the water it lost, the problem was the water is not the usual clear one but brown muddy one. The current of the water was very strong, it impossible to any one to cross it by foot or by boat. It grows larger, the river overflow and flooded the community, making people run to evacuation area. While they evacuate, large rocks came rolling and tumbling down from the mountain and some of its side is falling, there is definitely a landslide.

When the rain stopped, the whole community was covered with mud and rocks. Ah I remembered, when I was young the community Dons sold their land to a company. Every men above 18 got a job and a sum of money for salary. They cut trees in the mountain and do mining. Everyone is happy, the company employs and pays the people, the company donates to the school and build roads. They think it is okay to cut trees and didn't think of the consequences, they are happy as they are. Now it pays out, since the mountain have no enough trees to hold the water, it flooded the community. As people walked back to their houses, their faces was ashen with shock and mixed emotions written all over them: fear, regret, hurt, sad. What if it happened again? are we safe here? Well it might happened again since they still continue mining.
